About Time is an endearing, quirky and beautiful movie about love with a message about how truly short life is and the importance of family and friends. It’s not your typical romantic film about boy meets girl, falls in love and they live happily ever after. Well they do..kind of. But it is a film about family and how precious life is without the cheesy and cliche elements that most romantic films offer. The film is simply lovely.

The main character played by Domhnall Gleeson, is a young man who inherited the ability to travel back in time. And pause. This isn’t some magical traveling  back in time of the disney genre. I will sound crazy saying this, but it’s a realistic traveling back in time. It’s not about choosing the winning lottery number or changing time in major ways, but rather the subtle differences we would all make. The girl we didn’t notice before, the person we didn’t say hi to, the opportunity we didn’t take. This is one of those films that I could watch over and over again on a rainy day by myself or with friends.

There is no better way to sum it up other than magical. Because that is what life is.
